Children: Sunday School/Pioneer Clubs
Rally Day was a huge success as comedian and ventriolquist Chris McBrien made us all laugh with the help of his puppet friends! It is never too late to join our Sunday School so please come and find a 'Sunday School Home' at Shabbona Church.
Pioneer Clubs & Sunday School: We have a very unique program in that some years ago we decided to combine a Pioneer Club program with our Sunday School program. Pioneer Clubs is best thought of as a type of Christian Scouting. Perhaps your children have been a part of similar programs such as Awana. The headquarters for Pioneer Clubs is right around the corner in Carol Stream, Illinois. We use the Pioneer Club curriculum and after every 9-weeks the children are awarded their badges during the regular morning worship service. You are encouraged to enroll your children and to also share this information with families throughout the Shabbona, Waterman, and Lee area.
Transportation: If you are unable to transport your children please call the Church Office at 815.824.2359 and we will work out transportation.
Children's Puppet Team: Perhaps you have heard about our famous Youth Puppet Team. This year Ms. Pam has launched a Children's Puppet Team and they gave their first performance a short while ago. Children of the ages 5 or older are welcome to join.
Crafts: This year we are going to be making special crafts with the help of the men of the Church. Some of the crafts currently being planned are wood toys, a periscope, an airplane, and many more.
Race Events: Each year we also have two races. Our famous Mousetrap Car Race at Christmas and our Raingutter Regatta (boat race) during the Sunday School Picnic at the end of the year. We feel our strength is in providing a loving, active environment in which our kids can learn the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
