Purpose Statement

It is the purpose of Shabbona United Church of Christ to have every member grow towards being more Christ-Centered through:

MAGNIFICATION: Worship
To exalt God both corporately and individually in the spirit and in truth, through prayer, through the preaching of the Word, through music, and through all forms of creative arts as well as in all apsects of our lifestyle.

MEMBERSHIP: Fellowship
To welcome people into membership through faith in Jesus Christ, to encourage, support, and pray for each other as members of the family of God, and to share our lives together.

MATURITY: Discipleship
To build up the Body of Christ in the knowledge of the Son of God to spiritual maturity through discipleship training, equipping the saints for service to the Lord.

MINISTRY: Service
To enable members to serve unselfishly in Jesus' name, meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those in our church community and in the world.

MISSION: Outreach/Evangelism
To share the good news of Jesus Christ in word and deed with as many people as possible in our community and throughout the world.
